The Wien
Mass Filter is used in combination with the Ion
Source IS 40 E for dynamic SIMS/SNMS analysis and Ion Scattering
Spectroscopy (ISS) applications.
Wien Mass Filter for Ion
Source IS 40 E
The Wien Mass Filter is
used for producing a pure ion beam, free from neutral particles.
It eliminates:
Ions of unwanted isotopes
Ions of impurities
Multiple charged ions
Neutral particles
The Wien Filter consists of a permanent magnet and a pair of electrostatic deflector plates arranged perpendicular to each other.
Featuers:
High dispersion yet
small overall dimensions
Additional port for
differantial pumping
Stigmatic correction and beam adjustment included as standard
Beam blanking
Can be retrofitted on site to existing Ion Sources IS 40 E
Bakeable to 250°C
Mounting Flange: 2.75" OD (DN38CF)
Mass range: greater than 12.5 amu (5 keV), or 2.5 amu (1 keV)
Mass resolution: better
than 20 at 5 keV
